Dive Team
Butts County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team was established to assist in unique situations that Lake Jackson and other waterways present for law enforcement within the county. The team consists of 6 members who have received dive training and have various levels of expertise in this field. The responsibilities of these challenges are handled by specially trained officers who volunteer their time to be a part of the dive team.
The team is called upon in emergency situations when life or property is threatened in any waterway. The team trains all year to provide underwater recovery of vehicles, plane crashes, efforts for recovering fatalities from drowning or boat wrecks. They are in charge of investigating underwater crime scenes.
